About us

Chulalongkorn University is the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand. Founded in 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), the university was named as a tribute to the king's royal father, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Over a period of time, Chulalongkorn University, or Chula for short, has grown to become a full-fledged university. Today, Chula comprises eighteen faculties, a graduate school, eleven research institutes, three teaching institutes, and four affiliated institutions with more than 2,800 faculty members.

| The Faculty of Communication Arts |

The Faculty of Communication Arts is one of the 18 Faculties in Chulalongkorn University, located on Phayathai Road in the heart of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Founded in 1965, it was originally an independent department named the Department of Mass Communications and Public Relations. It officially became a Faculty in 1974, known publicly as the Faculty of Communication Arts.
At present, the Faculty consists of over 70 full-time faculty members and over 1,000 students. Each year the Faculty has a capacity for 150 new undergraduate students and 335 new graduate students. Overtime, the Faculty has established an outstanding reputation in variuos communication areas such as Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Motion Pictures and Still Photography, Speech communication and Performing Arts. It is widely recognized that the Faculty has produced numerous communication professionals working in both public and private sectors in Thailand as well as overseas.

| Bachelor of Arts in Communication Management |

In continuing our tradition of research and academic expansion, the Faculty now offers a four-year undergraduate program in Communication Management. As an international program, we use English as a medium of instruction, and we combine various components of communication arts with management in order to produce well-rounded, highly skilled graduates.
First introduced in Fall 2004, the Communication Management program is designed to provide intellectual and professional tools needed in developing a high standard of graduates who are equipped with a thorough understanding of both national and international communications and are capable of managing varieties of communication tasks. All courses are taught by experienced faculty members and respected professionals from various communication fields both in Thailand and overseas in order to ensure the highest standard curriculum.

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication Management was initiated at an opportune time. The demand for international communications skills has never been higher, and we recognize the need to consolidate the many areas of communications using English as the medium.
Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Motion Pictures, Public Speaking, and Performing Arts are among our widely recognized degree programs. By offering additional skills acquired through management courses, we feel our graduates will be highly sought after in the job market and will make significant contributions to Thailand and international community.

Welcome to a degree program that we feel fulfills a long awaited need in melding communication skills and management expertise. Excellent communications skills are consistently the most sought after by prospective employers throughout the world. By combining the elements of leadership and strong communications skills, we hope to produce graduates who will make an immediate impact in the International Business community. To achieve that end, we are able to provide Instructors who can teach an extensive variety of courses. Our goal is to provide the building blocks that will allow our graduates to have meaningful, satisfying careers. One day, they may also become those prospective employers for our future graduates.
