Condition: -
Major characteristics of Thai politics and government; patterns of power relationships, processes of legitimization, value commitments, and behavior relevant to state power, political power, and the allocation; and public interests; changes and developments in Thai politics and government and its future prospects.

2605311 Principle of Marketing 3(3-0-6)
Condition: -
Principles of Marketing covers the basic concepts in marketing and sales promotion. The main focus of the course concerns how markets develop and operate in modern society. Students will learn such things as the notion of market segmentation, the classification of goods and services, and the various functions, institutions and channels of the basic market. The course also emphasizes factors affecting consumer behavior and consumer demand, subjects significant in a future communication professional’s line of work.

2800209 Thai Culture 3(3-0-6)
Condition: -
As future professionals in the Thai business community, it is important for students to understand the pervasiveness as well as the implications of Thai culture in various areas of communication. This includes Thai culture with respect to the institutions of nation, religion, and the monarchy; the various traditions of Thailand, including rites, social norms and values; and the arts, for instance film, short stories, and poetry. The course also outlines the differences in culture in the different regions of Thailand, and also in contemporary Thai society, in which communication is a significant factor.

2900151 Foundation of Economics 3(3-0-6)
Condition: -
Foundation of Economics covers concepts from income and expenditure to demand and supply as well as the functions of market capital and banking fiscal economics. Students will learn about the structure of a macro economy and what is meant by economic development as well as the mechanisms of international economics. The course also outlines such things as human resources, natural resources, and how they apply with the economic environment.

Origins and evolution of human civilization from the prehistoric age to the present; interaction between society, the economy, politics, thought and artistic creativity in each period; aesthetic aspects of works which reflect the achievements of each period in human history.

Meaning and scope of philosophy; major problems of philosophy: the problems of ultimate reality, knowledge and ethics, aesthetics and applied philosophy; logic as an instrument of philosophy; nature of inductive and deductive methods of reasoning; principles of valid and invalid; analysis of reasoning in ordinary language.

Condition: -
Art as a historical record, art as political advertising, arts as religious education, art as social criticism. Rather than chronologically, the course examines key works as a means to greater understanding of larger trends, issues, key ideas and cultural shift. Above all in this course, Through social and cultural context, we discuss the mental outlook or worldview of chosen artists to create an appreciation of the imaginative (and artistic) effort necessary on the part of the students to travel imaginatively in time and through cultures very different from those of today. The aim of the course is to develop critical and analytical skills of observation with understanding and empathy.

The development of music, sound and musical instruments; the classification and nature or the music of Thailand and neighboring countries, compositions of great composers and worldwide national music.

Science and Mathematics

Condition: -
The course outlines the development of human thought from the prehistoric to modern period. Students will study scientific processes, and practices involved in different scientific disciplines, and the advancement of scientific research in various fields from the time of their inception to the present. Students will also learn about the value of science and technology as well as the problems caused by misuse of technology and the ethics involved in scientific research.

This course covers fundamental elements of computer hardware and software in communication arts. Students will learn, for instance, text and image composition, how to use computer graphics, databases, and the basic functions of website design.

English Language

5508111 Academic Writing 3(2-2-5)
Condition:
Realizing the importance for students to develop university level writing skills, this course trains students in the know-how to organize and present ideas. Grammar and various writing aspects are also stressed, including writing variations of essays. Narrative, compare/contrast essays and process analysis will be practiced to prepare students for impending research papers.

Condition: Prer 5508111
This course focuses primarily on completing a multiple source research paper, which includes documentation skills; especially MLA and APA styles for works cited pages. Writing skills of argumentation and persuasion will also be practiced.
